Flake

Lauren still has a slight problem with ‘cradle cap’ (flaky skin on her scalp). Claire took her back to the Doctor yesterday, but he said we had to keep her. We’ve been using a smelly shampoo called Selsun Blue, which has been working slowly. He suggested that we also use baby oil – as unlikely as it sounds, we rub the baby oil into her scalp with a soft toothbrush (to dislodge the flakes gently I guess), then use the shampoo. All this is by way of background to one of the funniest things Claire has ever said (in my humble opinion). I’d suggested that we go out for a little while, but she wasn’t keen on the idea. “Anyway, we can’t go out because we’ve got to oil Lauren’s head.”
