Lauren & Sam

It’s not all caviar and baby wipes, mate

Sha’ uuuu’!

Lauren has returned from a week away in Belgium with Guides. She had a fantastic time, visiting Brussels and Brugge, doing various outdoor activities, and experiencing Flanders. She told us that she cried at that last one more than she’s ever cried at anything, so it appears they did a good job of evoking the human tragedy for the children.

They shared a coach with some Essex children, hence the title of this post; there was a near-constant cry of “Sha’ uuuu’!” (shut up) as they applied their fake tan and other stereotypes.

After a week with just Sam we’ve now swapped over, as he has gone to Dorset with Scouts. It was pretty tough to see him go, as this is his first time away from home (Lauren has been away before, and on the Belgium trip Aunty Janet was there anyway). We’ve heard of no disasters so far, so will assume all is well. He’s back on Saturday, just in time for our family holiday.
