Claire and the kids were all in our bed this morning, and when I went up to see them Sam was very excited. He was kneeling on the bed alongside Claire, and in his excitement first slapped Claire’s shoulder, then seemed to try and lean on her but missed and fell like an oak onto the mattress. If you’ve seen the bit in ‘Only Fools and Horses’ where Del leans against a bar that’s no longer there you’ll be able to picture it.

I’ve now seen Lauren’s school photo; she looks rather unhappy on it. To be fair, she had warned Claire that she wouldn’t smile on the photo. Spookiest of all is how much she looks like my Mum – Claire says she can see her Mum in there too.
