One of the things that’s most engaging about Lauren at the moment is her earnestness – she will talk about trivial subjects very seriously, because for her they are serious. So she corrected me about which people were best friends at school (it’s a very complicated system), and will explain in detail how we should play a game, or put our trousers on.
