First Day

Sam’s first day was a mixed affair. He didn’t want Claire to go (though normally he’s rather hopeful that she will), but settled down once she’d gone. Then at snack time he got a bit temperamental again, and as Claire walked through the door his ‘flep’ (technical term referring to the grossly distended bottom lip small children are able to deploy to indicate displeasure) appeared to reprimand Claire for having left him with this bunch of strangers.

All that in just one hour. Tomorrow is two hours.
