Father’s day
I got an answer-machine message from Lauren saying “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY DADDY!” on Sunday, so I called back to allow her to shout it at me live. Both the kids are doing fine, with the standard number of tantrums etc. Lauren is being dependent on Claire, so she won’t let her Grandma do anything for her, but I don’t think Sam cares either way. They met up with Nana and Grandpa (so many senior relatives) and Simon on Sunday and Monday, and after some initial wariness from Sam (Dad is a little intimidating to look at) they all got on fine.
They return to the US on Wednesday, and we’re hoping for an easier trip than on the way out. In theory this is the harder journey for the kids, as it’s during the day. Fingers crossed.
