Lauren & Sam

Too many things to catch up on…

Lauren went to the doctor last week. She is average for height and weight, which Claire claims she’s always been, though I refer her back to this post which says she was short, and no surprise. The doctor identified the things around her fingers that we thought were down to biting as warts, so putting aside our neglectful parent ways we’re now treating her.

Both kids are going through an unsettled sleep phase at the moment, which has some cute sides (sleeping together) and less cute aspects (sleeping together with mummy and daddy). We’re gradually trying to wean them off dependency on us, though it will take some time I’m sure.

At school all the kids go for a nap (or rest) at the same time. So everyday, at the end of nap time, Lauren tells Sam’s teacher to “Look after my little brother”. We’ve also worked out that it’s during nap time, when she doesn’t actually sleep, that she eats the nosepads from her glasses. We’re getting yet another new set tonight.

Sam is still struggling with his talking. He clearly understands things, but is happier grunting and nodding than actually speaking. We’re working on that (as well as everything else).
