A rough transcript of a conversation from this morning, regarding what children’s program to watch (as the kids were up early):

C: OK, what would you like to watch?

L: Dragon Tales [Lauren doesn’t actually speak in italics, that’s just the name of a program]

S: (pulls a face) I doan like tha’

C: Well you’ll have to discuss it between you

L: Sam, I really want to watch Dragon Tales [this time she did actually speak in italics for the first bit]

S: Oh, OK then
