Lauren & Sam

It’s not all caviar and baby wipes, mate

Progress

We had a birthday party for the kids at the weekend (better late than never). As part of the tidying effort Sam had to give up his potty, and we used that as an opportunity to wean him from it completely. It went remarkeably well – no complaints, doesn’t even need it at night, and is happy to use the toilet without even bothering with the special seat that stops small people from falling in. And no, he hasn’t fallen in. Yet.

This might not seem like much, but he’s been fiercely attached to his potty for some time. He would poop in the potty in his bedroom, shout “Done!” (often taking us by surprise, as we didn’t know he was busy), and then crouch on his hands and knees to receive the cleansing wipe. He didn’t much care for me doing that, as unlike his mum I would first carry him in to the bathroom, butt first.
