West Xylophone

One of the kids’ favourite DVDs is by ‘They Might Be Giants’, and called ‘Here Come the ABCs!’ An early track, and my personal favourite, is ‘The Alphabet of Nations’. It runs through a list of country names (seen<a xhref="http://www.tmbw.net/wiki/index.php/Lyrics:Alphabet_Of_Nations” here) to a pleasing tune. I was singing it this morning, and got as far as “Norway, Oman, Pakistan” before pausing to try to remember what letter came after P. Lauren immediately picked up the tune with “Qatar, Russia, Surinam”. Given the countries in question, I was quite impressed.
