A few things to catch up on…

…Lauren has decided that we’re moving back “because Daddy doesn’t like the bugs.  They bite me all the time too.”

…Sam smacked Lauren in the face with a garden cane, necessitating a precautionary trip to the hospital (a split lip, but just fine).  I told him off, including his (or Lauren’s) first ever smack (something I’m not happy with myself about) which prompted his usual response of “I don’t like my Daddy”.  I responded that that was fine, because I didn’t like him much right now either.  This, I think, shocked him more than the smack, as after a moment of speechlessness he switched to “I like my Daddy”.  He became very contrite (for a 3 year old) later, and when I asked him the next morning what he had learned he immediately responded “Don’t hit people.”  We’ll see.

…Our house goes on the market next Friday, and we’re targeting July 11th to fly back.  No guarantees yet, of course.
