Camping

We went camping this weekend.  We found out that:

• 96F is really very hot, especially when you have to keep spraying yourself with DEET to keep the vampire mosquitos at bay.
• Sam is allergic to mosquito bites, so being bitten on his eyelid made him look like a (losing) prizefighter.
• Lauren will use pit toilets, but only if she really really has to.
• Sam, on the other hand, finds them fascinating, and likes to run his hands over them as much as possible.
• Po’ white trash have names like Perry, and can shout endlessly at each other way into the night about absolutely nothing.
• Claire can’t handle her Benadryl.

This was our last camping trip in the US, so next time we go we can worry about normal things, like bees, and having absolutely everything you own permanently damp.
