More Swimming

Lauren has been promoted to the big pool in swimming class, which I think means that she can cover 5 meters (horizontally). She really enjoys it, and despite having started a little late is very proud to be joining some of her friends in the big pool.

Sam is less impressed with swimming overall, particularly as his friend Charlie has already moved up to the big pool. He’s very cheerful about it all really, given that he basically bounces from side to side to give the impression he’s swimming. He and I have agreed that we’re going to do some extra practicing – he hasn’t yet gained the confidence to lie flat, which means the bits sticking out of the water are pushing the rest of him under – but until the rest of his body catches up with his enormous head he’s inevitably going to struggle some.
