More Reading

Sam’s reading a book about a dog who doesn’t like tunnels at the moment. This involves many occurences of the word ‘canal’, which he pronounces ‘CA-null’. He’s very consistent in this; no matter how many times he’s corrected, and acknowledges his error, the next time he sees it he reverts. I think he’s finding the book a little intimidating, as it has a serious amount of text and very few pictures, but he’s soldiering on and actually doing very well.

The two of us are also reading The Hobbit, which he seems to enjoy despite its slightly old-fashioned language and bouts of poetry. We’re about to leave Beorn’s house.
