Rude words

Sam had been saying fart a couple of days ago; no big deal, but the preferred term in the family is trump (which has the added benefit of being a funnier word). Claire was telling me about this, and used the poorly chosen phrase “Sam has been using the F word today.” Sam was very quick, and very determined, in his denial. It may be wrong of me, but I really wanted to give him a hug – it’s not every day you get such a clear indication that your son knows there’s a life game being played, and he knows how to play.
